Research into the birth and transition of several of my Great Aunts and Uncles continues.  Information regarding the birth and deaths of George Thomas, James Robert, and Robert could not be found.  If you have access to obituaries, death certificates, baptismal certificates, or other information that may assist this search, please let me know.  Look closely at the photos, and you may see resembles to many of us and to those who have transitioned to glory.

Aunt Lillie married George Washington Miller.  To this union were born two children, Lillie Marion and George C. Miller, Jr., who preceded her in death.

James Robert and Eva Gilchrist Hearst, my Great Grandparents

The couple had two children, James Robert (1905-1972) and Mildred (1906-1989).  Among my collection, is a undated newspaper clipping that details the killing of  Grandpop James by a Officer Wheets, a policeman of the 50th & Lancaster Avenue station during a car chase.  It was alleged that Grandpop James attempted to rob a citizen.  He was shot in the back of the head while riding on the passenger's side of the car.  Officer Wheets was held without bail and charged with involuntary manslaughter.  Grandmom Eva (1891-1966) was a widow in 1929 according to the City Directories of the U.S. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was living in the home of her son (and my Grandfather) James along with George Thomas who is listed as her son's uncle.

George Thomas Hearst (AKA Uncle Buddy), 1900-1989

Uncle Buddy married Selina Perkins (1923-1994).  They had four children: George Thomas, Adrienne Theresa Hearst Wooden, Deborah Melissa Hearst Cuffie, and Stephen Alfred Hearst (1952-1994).  Discussions with family members revealed that Uncle Buddy took on the name of his deceased brother George Thomas after moving to Philadelphia at an early age.
