It is customary on Christmas day for the offspring of Thelma White Hearst
and the late Rev. James R. Hearst to "pop in" to their childhood home to share holiday cheer with their mother. On
this Christmas day, the elder son James R. Hearst, III (J.R.) was in town with his youngest son Marshall, a 9th grade football
pro. They arrived on Christmas Eve from Chicago, IL to "camp out" at the home of #3 son Rev. and Mrs. Stanley
Hearst, Sr. of Moorestown, New Jersey.
On hand to wish Mom happy holidays were six of her 10 children
in rank order (oldest to youngest): James Hearst (Buster), Claudia Hearst Curry (Babesis), Jamesina Hearst (Penny),
Rev. Stanley Hearst, Minister Yvonne Hearst Smith (Tinkerbelle) and Charles Hearst. Also on hand were four
of the nearly 30 grandchildren in rank order: Dante Charles Hearst (D.C.), Stanley Hearst, Jr. (Scooch),
Kamea Curry, and Marshall Hearst. [All are tatooed with the exception of Marshall.] In addition, Sharon Hearst, wife of Rev.
Hearst and Wilbur (Smitty), husband of Yvonne were present.
Telephone calls were placed to the other four offspring and their
families in rank order: Sidney and Sophia Hearst of Atlanta, GA; Deborah Hearst Purnell (Debby) of New Castle,
DE; Robert (Wayne) and Tony Hearst of McAllister, OK; and Dante and Valerie Hearst of San Francisco,
CA. Unfortunately, Dante was the only one reached by telephone.
Fun was had by all. Lots of photos were taken by Claudia (me) who, as a young
person, could always be found with a camera in hand...or as James exclaimed today, "here she comes with another gadget!" Enjoy
the photos that were produced by my "gadget!" See if you can match the faces with those in the group shot on the page titled,
"About Me."
We hope that everyone who views this website enjoyed a blessed, peaceful and "low-calorie"
2004 holiday season. Check us out in 2005!
